Mission Statement

The Salton Sea Task Force is a highly coordinated, diverse, and multidisciplinary team whose research spans the breadth of the human and natural system challenges facing the changing Salton Sea. The Center’s uniquely varied and integrated expertise covers critical topics such as lake ecology and environmental chemistry, air and water quality, human health, natural resource development and policy, and community education and outreach. Our overarching goal is to contribute the objective science needed to inform effective, sustainable, and equitable mitigation strategy and policies for the Salton Sea region and similarly threatened environments in a changing world.
